A quick and easy recipe for hot buttered rum: start by making the “butter batter” ahead of time, and keep it in the fridge. Then when you want to make a hot buttered rum needs, just mix a scoop of it with some boiling water and booze, et voilà!
Hot Buttered Rum is incredibly easy to whip up, and it's warm, comforting, and cozy! Made with rum, hot water, butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Perfect for festive holidays and cold winter nights.
In a medium bowl, combine the dark brown sugar, unsalted butter, vanilla extract, honey, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt. Using an electric mixer, beat the ingredients until blended and smooth.
Transfer the mixture to a 4-cup (or larger) measuring cup.
Pour 2 cups of hot water into the measuring cup and stir until the butter mixture dissolves.
Add the spiced rum and mix well.
Divide the Toasty Buttered Rum Delight among 4 mugs and garnish each with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
