In a bowl, combine the turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt for the marinade. Coat the Lady Fish evenly with the marinade and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, bring a small pot of water to a boil, add the radish pieces and cook them until tender, about 10 minutes.

In a blender or grinder, combine the grated coconut, turmeric powder, tamarind paste, peppercorns, coriander seeds, and red chilies with 1/2 cup water to make the gravy.

Heat the oil in a kadai or deep pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, and cook until softened and browned, about 5 minutes.

Pour the blended gravy mixture into the pan and stir to combine. Add an additional 1/2 cup water, or more, as needed to achieve the desired consistency.

Add the marinated Lady Fish to the pan and cook for 2 minutes.

Finally, add the cooked radish pieces and let the curry simmer for an additional 10 minutes, covered, to meld the flavors together.
