Treat yourself to an incredibly tender and juicy corned beef and cabbage, perfectly cooked with your choice of stovetop or slow cooker methods. The secret lies in the Irish stout beer used for cooking.
Place corned beef brisket in a large pot with lid or a 6-quart slow cooker.

Pour Irish stout beer over the brisket to cover.

Add Worcestershire sauce.

Sprinkle the spice packet provided with corned beef brisket over the top.
STOVETOP

Bring to a boil over high heat. Cover pot with lid and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
SLOW COOKER

Cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.
FINISH WITH

Add potatoes and cook for 15 minutes (stovetop) or 1 hour on low (slow cooker).

Add baby carrots and cabbage wedges, season vegetables with salt and pepper. Continue to cook, with the lid on, for 15 minutes (stovetop) or another 2 hours on low (slow cooker) until everything is tender.

Remove meat from pot or slow cooker and let rest for 15 minutes.
