Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat.

In a large mixing bowl, add Italian bread crumbs and milk. Combine well and set aside for at least 5 minutes.

Mix in the ground beef, minced onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, grated parmesan cheese, and finely chopped fresh parsley into the soaked bread crumb mixture, using your hands until just combined. Do not overmix.

Portion the meat mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Using a cookie or ice cream scoop makes it easier.

Wet your hands with water, and roll meatballs into 2-inch diameter balls.

Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs have reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

While the meatballs are baking, heat the store-bought marinara sauce in a saucepan over low heat.
