This mouthwatering cheesesteak sandwich features seasoned ground beef complemented by sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms, and gooey provolone cheese, all served on a crusty sub roll.
In a medium skillet, warm 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat and sauté the diced green bell pepper, diced yellow onion, and diced portobello mushrooms until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes
2
Add the minced garlic, and cook for about 30 more seconds, then set the veggies aside
3
In the same pan, add the ground beef and cook over medium heat until there is no longer any pink showing
4
Stir in the salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, then add in the veggies and stir until everything is combined
5
Split each sub roll and place a slice of provolone cheese on the bottom, scoop about 1/3 cup of the beef mixture on top, and then place another slice of cheese. Adjust the amount of cheese according to your preference
6
Spread softened butter on the outside of each sub roll, then place it on a skillet
7
Cook over medium-low heat for 3-4 minutes until the outside is browned and the cheese is melted
