Move oven rack to about four inches away from the broiler and preheat the broiler to high.

Lightly brush black cod on both sides with olive oil and place it in an oven-safe dish.

Broil the fish for about 10 minutes, or until it easily flakes with a fork. Do not flip the fish during cooking.
GLAZE

While the fish is broiling, whisk together rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and ready-made sambal oelek in a small saucepan over medium heat.
