Peel the carrots and slice them into half-inch rounds. Finely chop fresh parsley and set aside.

In a thick-bottomed, oven-safe skillet, add enough water to cover the bottom by approximately 1/2 inch.

Place the skillet on medium heat and add the sliced carrots. Boil them for about 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, drain the water completely from the skillet. Add the butter, light brown sugar, salt, and pepper to the carrots.

Mix everything together in the skillet until the carrots are completely coated. Continue stirring for a couple of minutes to let the butter and sugar create a glaze.
