Experience a taste of the Caribbean with our Easy Jerk Chicken. Smoky allspice, sweet brown sugar, cayenne heat, and a hint of fresh garlic and ginger make a tantalizing combination. Marinate the chicken to maximize flavors. It's a breeze to cook - and even easier to fall in love with!
In a bowl, combine allspice, brown sugar, cumin, cloves, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, canola oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
MARINATING
2
Rub the spice mixture over the chicken breasts thoroughly, ensuring all surfaces are coated. Once done, cover the bowl with cling wrap.
3
Let the chicken marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours to deepen the flavor. If you have more time, it can marinate overnight.
COOKING
4
Preheat a skillet or grill to high heat.
5
Place the marinated chicken breasts on the hot grill or skillet.
6
Cook the chicken for about 6 minutes on each side, until the exterior is very deep, dark brown and the inside is no longer pink. Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of the chicken.
RESTING
7
Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute within the chicken, making it more flavorful.
