Expiration & Storage Tips
When does Crusted Chicken expire?
Unopened crusted chicken that's store-bought typically has a labelled expiry date, so always check that. Once opened and stored in the fridge, it lasts for 3-4 days. If you've cooked some at home, consume within 3-4 days if refrigerated. If it's frozen, crusted chicken can last up to 4 months.
How do you tell if Crusted Chicken is bad?
If the crusted chicken has an off smell, changes colour to a greyish tone, or has a slimy texture, it's time to toss it out. Also, if you notice mold on it, throw it away immediately.
Tips for storing Crusted Chicken to extend shelf life
• Always refrigerate crusted chicken within two hours of cooking or purchasing.
• Store the chicken in airtight containers or aluminium foil to keep it fresh for longer.
• If freezing, wrap it properly with freezer-safe wrap or store in freezer bags to avoid freezer burn.
• Always remember to defrost frozen chicken in the refrigerator overnight before use. Never defrost it on the counter as this can lead to bacterial growth.
