Expiration & Storage Tips
When does Steak Fajitas expire?
Steak Fajitas made from fresh ingredients typically last for about 3-4 days in the refrigerator. If the steak fajitas are frozen, they can last up to 2 to 3 months. Now, if you want to store the uncooked steak used in it, you can store it in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days and in the freezer for 6 to 12 months. However, remember to cook it properly before making the fajitas.
How do you tell if Steak Fajitas is bad?
You can tell steak fajitas have gone bad if they develop an off smell, or if you notice a slimy or tacky texture upon touch. The colors may also darken or turn grey. If you see these signs or notice mold, it’s best to dispose of the steak fajitas right away.
Tips for storing Steak Fajitas to extend shelf life
• Always store steak fajitas in a shallow cover-tight container to prevent the spread of bacteria.
• Preferably cool the steak fajitas first before refrigerating to avoid raising the overall temperature of the refrigerator.
• For freezing, divide your steak fajitas into portion sizes you'll use up within a couple day. This way, you're not continuously freezing and thawing the entire batch.
• To defrost, move them from the freezer to the refrigerator and allow them to defrost overnight. Heated in a microwave or a skillet over medium heat can be used for quick defrosting.
