Expiration & Storage Tips
When does Quesadillas expire?
Once prepared, quesadillas can safely be stored in your refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. If you've purchased frozen quesadillas from the store, the expiration would usually be specified on the box, but they tend to last anywhere from 3 to 6 months in the freezer. If they've been allowed to defrost, they are best eaten within 3-4 days.
How do you tell if Quesadillas is bad?
Check for any unusual smells, especially a sour or off smell. If there's any visible mold or growth on the quesadilla, it has definitely gone bad. Also, if the quesadilla has become overly soggy or the fillings have discolored, it's best not to consume it. Discoloration or drying out on the tortillas is another sign that it may have gone bad.
Tips for storing Quesadillas to extend shelf life
• Wrap the quesadilla tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil before refrigerating. This helps to keep it fresh and prevents the tortilla from hardening.
• If you want to freeze the quesadillas, wrap each quesadilla individually for easy, single-serve defrost later.
• When you're ready to enjoy a previously frozen quesadilla, you can defrost it in the refrigerator overnight, or heat it directly in a toaster oven or microwave. For the best texture, you may want to finish reheating it in a skillet or oven to crisp the exterior.
