Expiration & Storage Tips
When does Coffee Pod expire?
Unopened coffee pods typically have a shelf life between 9 to 12 months, well beyond the printed date on the package. Once you’ve opened the coffee pod package, the coffee should be consumed immediately for the best taste as exposure to air can affect the flavor. Note that generally, coffee pods don't usually 'expire', they lose freshness over time. Freezing coffee pods isn't a common or recommended method for storage because moisture from the freezer can ruin them.
How do you tell if Coffee Pod is bad?
While it's pretty rare, coffee pods can go bad. Check for noticeable signs of mold, pungent smell, or if the pod appears bloated. If you notice any of these signs, it's safer to dispose of the pod. Also, when brewing, if the coffee tastes dull, flat or stale, it's likely that the coffee pod has lost its freshness.
Tips for storing Coffee Pod to extend shelf life
• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Sunlight can cause the coffee to deteriorate.
• Do not store your coffee pods in the fridge or freezer. The moisture can affect the texture and taste of the coffee.
• Keep your pods in an airtight container. This can help keep the coffee fresh for longer.
• Always check the packaging for manufacturer's storage guidelines to increase longevity and maintain the best flavor.
