Expiration & Storage Tips
When does sparkling juice expire?
Unopened sparkling juice, when stored in a cool, dark place, can last for about 1 to 2 years past the date printed on the label. Once it has been opened, it should ideally be consumed within 2 to 3 days, though it can last up to a week if it's stored in the fridge. Freezing is generally not recommended for sparkling juice as it can affect the carbonation and overall quality.
How do you tell if sparkling juice is bad?
To determine if your sparkling juice is still okay to drink, give it a smell. If there's a unpleasant, sour or just off aroma, it's likely gone bad. Also check for a change in color or sediments at the bottom of the bottle. A flat taste is also an indicator that your sparkling juice isn't as fresh as it could be.
Tips for storing sparkling juice to extend shelf life
• Keep your unopened sparkling juice in a cool, dark place such as a pantry.
• If you've cracked open a bottle, seal it tightly and keep it in the fridge to prolong its shelf-life. The cooler temperature slows down the process of fermentation.
• Don't store your sparkling juice on the fridge door if possible as the temperature fluctuates there. The back of the fridge is usually the coldest and best spot.
• Avoid storing sparkling juice near strong-smelling food items as it can absorb their aromas.
