Cast Iron Skillet Steaks with Savory Blue Cheese Butter
Discover a foolproof way to create a restaurant-style steak at home with this simple recipe. The sizzling steak, cooked to perfection on the cast iron skillet, is complemented by a homemade blue cheese butter that adds layers sophistication to each bite.
In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the unsalted butter, blue cheese crumbles, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
2
Lay out a 12-inch piece of cling film, spoon out the butter mixture onto it and shape it into a log by rolling and twisting the ends.
3
Place in the freezer for at least 1 hour until firm.

4
Pat the strip steaks dry and brush each side with vegetable oil. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
5
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
6
Place your cast iron skillet on the stove over medium-high heat. When the skillet is hot (a drop of water should sizzle and evaporate), add the steaks.
7
Sear the steaks for 2 minutes on each side. Then, transfer the skillet to the preheated oven for 2 minutes.
8
Remove from oven and let steaks rest for 5 minutes. Slice a few pieces from the blue cheese butter log and let it melt on top of the hot steaks before serving.
