Expiration & Storage Tips
When does Supreme Pizza expire?
Most Supreme Pizzas come with an expiration date on the box if bought frozen from the grocery store, which is often up to one year ahead. Once baked, Supreme Pizza should be eaten within 3-4 days when stored in the refrigerator. If you freeze a whole baked Supreme Pizza, it could last up to 2 months but texture and flavor may be compromised after 1 month.
How do you tell if Supreme Pizza is bad?
A pizza that has gone bad can either have a sour smell or grow mold. If the pizza has been in the fridge for too long, or was left out at room temperature, its appearance, smell and taste will change. The veggies may wilt and become slimy, the cheese could be hardened or dried out, there may be a sour or off odor, or you may even notice fuzzy spots of mold. Any of these signs mean your pizza is no longer safe to eat.
Tips for storing Supreme Pizza to extend shelf life
• Always store your leftover pizza in the fridge within two hours of being baked or delivered, and make sure the temperature of your fridge is set below 40°F to prevent bacteria from growing.
• Store pizza slices in stackable airtight containers to prevent drying out and transfer of odors from other foods.
• If you have a whole pizza or larger quantity, wrap it tightly in aluminum foil before refrigerating to maintain moisture.
• For optimal taste when reheating, warm your pizza in an oven or toaster oven rather than microwaving. This will retain the crust’s crunch and prevent the cheese from becoming rubbery.
