Bamboo is a versatile and fast-growing plant that belongs to the grass family Poaceae. The term "iron bamboo" is often associated with the species Dendrocalamus strictus. But any bamboo that is exceptionally strong, because of its high density and maturity, can be referred to as iron bamboo.
