In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fusilli pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Once done, drain and set aside.

While the pasta is cooking, heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
