Marker

A marker is a versatile writing instrument used for drawing, coloring, labeling, and making various types of creative artwork or designs. Commonly found in households and retail establishments, markers come in a wide range of colors, sizes, and tips, from fine-tipped to broad strokes, and cater to different preferences or applications. They are often used by home cooks and consumers for labeling food containers, recipe cards or creating personalized kitchen decorations. Markers generally contain a dye, pigment, or another coloring agent in a liquid or semi-liquid state, held in a cartridge within the body of the marker. As the marker tip comes in contact with a surface, the ink is transferred, leaving a visible, and often permanent, mark. Many markers are designed to be waterproof or fade-resistant, making them excellent choices for labeling containers in the kitchen or freezer. Some markers, known as 'dry-erase' or 'whiteboard markers,' can be easily wiped clean, allowing users to update and change information or designs.
